Dental X-Ray

Accurate Diagnosis Starts with a Dental X-Ray

Dental X-rays are a quick, safe, and painless way to detect hidden dental issues such as cavities, bone loss, and infections. They help your dentist diagnose problems early, ensuring accurate treatment and long-term oral health.

Dental X-rays (radiographs) are internal images of your teeth and jaws. Dentists use X-rays to examine structures they can’t see during a routine checkup, like your jawbone, nerves, sinuses and teeth roots.

Cutting-Edge Dental Care with Digital X-Rays at Smile Dental Clinic

At Smile Dental Clinic in Great Yarmouth, we pride ourselves on leveraging cutting-edge technology to offer the very best in dental care. Our Digital X-Ray service stands testament to this commitment, providing detailed imaging with utmost safety in mind.

Why Would I Need A Dental X-Ray?

Dental x-rays play a crucial role in modern dentistry and early detection of dental problems. They enable us to identify cavities, assess the health of your tooth roots and surrounding bone, diagnose and monitor gum disease, and evaluate the presence of teeth that are missing or wisdom teeth.

Additionally, dental x-rays are essential for planning orthodontic treatment, dental implants, and other restorative procedures including crowns and dental bridges. By detecting issues early on, dental radiographs help prevent the progression of dental problems, ultimately saving you time, money, and discomfort.

How often should I have x-rays taken?

If you are a new patient, unless you have had dental x-rays very recently, the dentist will probably suggest having x-rays. This helps them assess the condition of your mouth and to check for any hidden problems. After that, x-rays are usually recommended every 6 to 24 months depending on the person, their history of decay, age and the condition of their mouth.
