Toothache
Toothache is your body's way of telling you something isn't right. It often comes from tooth decay or gum disease, and sometimes from something as simple as food trapped between teeth.
Whatever the cause, it's best not to ignore it. The sooner we find the problem, the simpler it usually is to treat.

If the pain persists or you notice swelling or other unusual symptoms, call us on 01493 543144. We offer emergency appointments, often on the same day, and you don't need to be registered with us.
How we can treat toothache
We'll examine the tooth, take an x-ray if needed and explain what's causing the pain. Depending on the cause, treatment could be a filling, gum treatment, root canal treatment or an extraction.
Preventing toothache
- Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and clean between your teeth
- Keep up regular check-ups and hygiene visits
- Avoid habits like chewing ice
