Great Yarmouth, Gorleston & Lowestoft
Can't find an NHS dentist near Great Yarmouth?
You're not the only one. A lot of people around here have been trying for months to get onto an NHS dentist's list, and it's really frustrating, especially if something's hurting.
We're a private practice, so we can't offer NHS treatment. But we can tell you honestly what your NHS options are, and what it costs to see us instead, so you can decide what's right for you.

Your NHS options first
If you want to stay with the NHS, these are the places to start:
- Look for a practice with space. The NHS website lets you search for dentists near you. It's worth ringing them too, as the list isn't always up to date. Find a dentist on the NHS website.
- Urgent problems or out of hours. Call NHS 111. They can arrange urgent NHS dental care if you need it.
- You don't have to be "registered". In England you don't sign up to an NHS dentist for life. You can ask any practice whether they're taking new NHS patients.
If you'd rather not wait
Some people would rather pay to be seen now than keep waiting, especially if a tooth is causing trouble. If that's you, we're on Warren Road in Hopton-on-Sea, between Gorleston and Lowestoft, and we're taking new patients.
Here's what the most common things cost with us. There are no hidden extras, and we'll always tell you the price before we start anything.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| New Patient Exam (Includes X-Rays) | £100 |
| Emergency Appointment | £80 |
| Routine Scale and Polish | £75 |
| Small White Filling | £160 |
| Anterior Extraction | £200 |
Dentures start from £1,300. See our full price list.
How it works with us
- Your first visit is a proper check-up with our dentist, including any x-rays you need, for £100.

- In pain? Our emergency appointments are £80 and we keep slots free so we can usually see you the same day.
Straight answers
Common questions
Do you take NHS patients?
No. We're a private practice, so all our treatment is private. We'd rather be upfront about that than have you find out when you call.
If I see you privately, can I still go to an NHS dentist later?
Yes. Seeing us doesn't stop you seeing an NHS dentist whenever one has space. Lots of people come to us while they wait for an NHS place, or for an emergency.
How soon can I be seen?
Call us on 01493 543144 and we'll tell you our next appointment. For emergencies we keep slots free and try to see you the same day.
How much is a check-up?
A new patient examination is £100, and that includes any x-rays you need. After that, an existing patient check-up is £80.
I'm in pain right now. What should I do?
Ring us as soon as we open on 01493 543144. Emergency appointments are £80, including the examination and any x-rays. If you need NHS urgent care, or it's out of hours, call NHS 111.
Will I be pushed into treatment I don't need?
No. We explain what we've found, what your options are and what each one costs, then you decide. Nothing goes ahead until you're happy.
